barn cats and dogs

Here at the barn we have 3 barn cats, Tori and Toby who are brother and sister and Dude. Tori and Toby came as kittens to the barn 3 summers ago from Saul agricultural high school. They were the final kittens from a litter who lived in the cow barn.

They came as little kittens and were soon adopted by the late great "Rinny" our barn dog as his kids. Rinny would carry them in his mouth or they would ride on his back to learn the way of life around the horses. They would all sleep together in Rinny's dog stall.

As they grew up they learned to climb and they love to hang out in the hay loft.

Dude was found wandering the streets at our Philadelphia Trolley Works garage. He was abandoned , skinny and hungry. He would eat the food left out for him but he really wanted a home. We brought him to the barn via the vet to be checked out. Poor Dude whoever owned him before he was abandoned removed both his front and rear claws which makes it hard to be a cat.
Dude is our office cat and when the weather's nice he goes outside and sits under the bench to people watch.

Luther is our new barn dog and he now watches over the cats and the horses. He even has a barn style dog house but mostly he runs around playing with everyone.

When you stop by the barn you can usually find the cats and Luther hanging out to greet you.

Stop by and visit

Off to roll in the yard
